Parmesan Meatloaf

Parmesan Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients

For the Meatloaf:

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan to prevent the meatloaf from sticking.

2. Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the following ingredients: ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and 1 cup of marinara sauce. Mix everything well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

3. Shape the Meatloaf

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Press it down firmly to form an even loaf shape.

4. Add the Marinara Sauce

Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly over the top of the meatloaf. This will add flavor and keep the meatloaf moist during baking.

5. Bake the Meatloaf

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.

6. Add the Cheese Topping

Remove the meatloaf from the oven. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.

7. Bake Until the Cheese is Melted

Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

8. Rest and Serve

Once baked, allow the meatloaf to rest for a few minutes before slicing. This helps the juices redistribute, making the meatloaf easier to cut and more flavorful.

9. Enjoy

Serve your delicious Parmesan Meatloaf with your favorite sides.
