Tender Beef Tips
These beef tips are the ultimate comfort food! Slow-cooked to perfection, the meat becomes incredibly tender and flavorful, making it an ideal dish to serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles. With just a few simple ingredients and minimal prep, this is a foolproof recipe for any day of the week!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs stew meat (beef tips or cubed beef)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 envelope beefy onion soup mix
- 1 can of water (use the empty soup can for measuring)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Set your oven to 300°F (150°C). Low and slow cooking is the key to achieving melt-in-your-mouth beef tips.
- Prepare the Beef Mixture:
- In a large 13×9-inch baking dish, combine the stew meat, cream of mushroom soup, brown gravy mix, and beefy onion soup mix.
- Fill the empty cream of mushroom soup can with water and add it to the mixture. Stir everything together to make sure the meat is evenly coated.
- Cover and Cook:
- Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil to lock in moisture and prevent the beef from drying out.
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 3 hours without opening the oven. This “no-peeking” rule ensures the meat cooks slowly and stays tender.
- Serve:
- After 3 hours, carefully remove the dish from the oven. The beef tips should be incredibly tender and flavorful, with a rich gravy formed from the slow cooking process.
- Serve the beef tips over a bed of mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles, and spoon some of the gravy over the top for extra flavor.
Tips:
- For an even richer flavor, you can add a splash of red wine or beef broth before baking.
- If you prefer a thicker gravy, after baking, transfer the liquid to a saucepan and simmer it with a cornstarch slurry until it thickens.
Enjoy the simple, hearty goodness of these Tender Beef Tips—perfect for a cozy meal any day of the week!
