Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup red and green M&M’s
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup holiday sprinkles

Directions:

1. Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Prepare Wet Ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and packed brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract, whisking until well combined.

3. Combine Dry Ingredients:

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined (do not overmix).

4. Add Mix-Ins:

  • Fold in the red and green M&M’s, white chocolate chips, and holiday sprinkles to distribute evenly throughout the batter.

5. Bake:

  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  • Be careful not to overbake, as this can cause the bars to dry out.

6. Cool and Serve:

  • Allow the cookie bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
  • Serve and enjoy your festive treat!
